Design Build Solutions completes second nursing home from provincial redevelopment plan.

Located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Opal Ridge Hall features nine separate neighbourhoods with 16 suites each. The new home features ample natural light, wide hallways and private rooms and washrooms. At the heart of Opal Ridge Hall lies a stunning indoor streetscape known as “Main Street”. This hub brings the community together with its beautifully crafted storefronts and welcoming gathering spaces, including a café, theatre, salon, town hall, and chapel.

Originally introduced in New Brunswick, Design Build Solutions’ Main Street concept has become a staple in new nursing homes, fostering a sense of independence, connection, and community spirit for every resident.

Design Build Solutions delivered this turn-key home to Shannex Inc. on time and on budget. Construction of Opal Ridge Hall was announced by the Province of Nova Scotia in May 2023, and this completed nursing home is among the first to open out of the more than 50 homes to be built by 2032.
