Position Information
Position Title: Site Coordinator
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Job Summary: Working from the project site, the Site Coordinator is responsible for the organization and management of records and information needed to ensure decisions related to construction progress can be based on the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Working closely with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent, you will keep the project and all related processes operating smoothly and on schedule from concept to client handover.
We have multiple vacancies for Site Coordinators to join our team on our large scale projects.
Required Education and Experience
Education:
- Construction Management Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 1+ years of experience in the residential/commercial construction industry in a similar role.
- Experience in General Contracting on site in residential, commercial and/or institutional construction; Design Build experience is a plus.
Job Duties
- Maintain logs pertaining to shop drawings, RFIs, SIs, COs and submit to the appropriate parties.
- Assist in evaluating subcontractors, issuing subcontracts and in verifying contractors are complying with scope of work.
- Work collaboratively with the Project Manager, Site Superintendent, and other team members to resolve issues.
- Understand, monitor, and hold those at the project site accountable for adhering to Design Build Solution’s Safety Program.
- Assist in preparation of manpower planning and activity schedules.
- Work with the safety manager to ensure all site orientations are completed.
- Assist in material ordering and procurement.
- Participate in weekly trade coordination meetings, including preparation and distribution of meeting minutes.
Job Capabilities/Performance Standards
- Computer literacy including working skills in Microsoft Office and cloud-based software.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with trade partners and team members.
- Understands the value and importance of project record keeping and information management and demonstrates interest and desire for continuous learning and development in this area.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and openly with clients, team members and supervisors in a timely and positive manner.
- Maintains a positive attitude and is dependable, consistently delivering high quality professional service.
- Basic understanding of all phases of building construction.
- Must possess valid driver’s license and CSA approved safety boots.
