In 2007, ACL Design Build Solutions Limited was awarded the Building for Better Living (BBL) contract to design and build nine new nursing homes throughout the Province of Nova Scotia. On average each home took 12 months to complete. ACL Design Build Solutions Limited began project construction in 2008 and by May 2010 all nine sites were operational. The BBL project resulted in many new concepts for residents, Shannex and the larger long term care sector. Through BBL, smaller household of 12-16 people were introduced, with the total home occupancy ranging from 36-65 people. This project highlighted the importance and the success of strong community relations in design and development, which we have continued to focus and foster in any new development.

Elk Court
Elk Court is located on Carter Road in Brookfield, Nova Scotia, and is home to 36 long term care residents. Elk Court is a single storey home comprised of three households.
Northumberland Hall
Northumberland Hall is located on Willow Street in Amherst, Nova Scotia, and is home to 36 long term care residents. Northumberland Hall is a single storey home comprised of three households
Orchard Court
Orchard Court is located on River Street in Kentville, Nova Scotia. A comfortable place for 62 long term care residents to call home. Orchard Court is a single storey home with four households.
Ryan Hall
Ryan Hall is a licensed nursing home and residential care home located on Hollingsworth Drive in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Ryan Hall offers licensed term care home and residential care to 65 residents. It is a single storey home with five households.
Vimy Court
Vimy Court is located on Vimy Road in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia, and is home to sixty long term care residents. This single storey home is comprised of four households.
